§ 2 Responses to Franz Xaver Winterhalter: Works 1836-1840

  • Thomas Persson says:

I have just bought an engraving on silk, Louis Philippe “King of the French”. I wonder if you can help me to understand how many engravings there are worldwide
    Happy to get an answer.
    Many regards, Thomas.

  • Charles DE LESPINAY says:

Nr 185a ‘Portrait of a lady’ seems to be Marie Jaubert nee Boisgues, a close friend of Franz & Hermann Winterhalter.
A second and identical portrait of Marie Boisgues by F. Winterhalter still exists in her family. I can show you a copy.
